FINANCIAL LITERACY AND FINANCIAL EDUCATION IN GLOBAL SCENARIO
Author: Anju Bala

ABSTRACT
Financial literacy has become an essential skill in today’s rapidly evolving economic landscape, impacting
personal financial management, economic stability, and the formulation of effective policies. The ability to
understand financial concepts, manage resources efficiently, and make informed financial decisions is critical
for individuals, businesses, and governments alike. Despite growing global efforts to improve financial
education, significant disparities remain among different demographic groups and regions. Lower-income
populations, marginalized communities, and developing nations often lag in financial literacy, limiting their
economic opportunities and financial well-being.
This paper examines the current state of financial literacy worldwide, focusing on variations in financial
education across countries and their implications for economic development. A detailed analysis of financial
literacy rates, the effectiveness of financial education programs, and challenges in improving financial
knowledge is presented. By drawing insights from international studies and policy implementations, this
research identifies key trends, obstacles, and solutions. Findings indicate that countries with structured financial
education frameworks exhibit greater financial resilience and economic security. Furthermore, the study
underscores the importance of integrating financial literacy into educational curricula, workplace training, and
digital financial tools to bridge knowledge gaps and promote sustainable financial inclusion.
Keywords: Financial literacy, financial education, economic stability, personal finance management, financial
decision-making, financial inclusion, financial literacy rates, financial education policies, global financial
literacy, economic empowerment, financial well-being.

MOBILIZING THE MARGINALIZED: KANSHI RAM’S VISION FOR SOCIAL AND POLITICAL CHANGE
Author: Kumaraswamy.T

ABSTRACT
Kanshi Ram (1934–2006) emerged as one of the most significant leaders in postindependence India who transformed the landscape of Dalit and Bahujan politics. His vision
was rooted in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s ideals of social justice, equality, and political
empowerment, but he redefined them for the realities of late twentieth-century India. Through
organizations like BAMCEF (Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation),
DS-4 (Dalit Shoshit Samaj Sangharsh Samiti), and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Kanshi
Ram successfully mobilized marginalized communities, particularly Dalits, Other Backward
Classes, and minorities, into a unified political identity. His concept of ―Bahujan‖
emphasized the numerical strength of the oppressed majority and sought to transform this
into a decisive political force.
In today’s India, where issues of caste-based exclusion, economic inequality, and social
discrimination persist, Kanshi Ram’s vision remains highly relevant. Despite constitutional
guarantees, Dalits continue to face challenges in access to education, employment, land, and
dignity. Political mobilization among Dalits has taken new forms, ranging from regional
party politics to grassroots social movements, yet the fragmentation of these efforts often
weakens their collective impact. Kanshi Ram’s strategies of social engineering, coalitionbuilding, and emphasis on independent political power still provide important lessons for
current struggles for social justice. This paper examines Kanshi Ram’s vision for mobilizing
marginalized communities and explores its continuing relevance in contemporary Dalit
politics. It argues that while structural inequalities persist, Kanshi Ram’s emphasis on unity,
political assertion, and leadership from within marginalized groups continues to inspire
movements for dignity, equality, and justice. His legacy offers a framework for rethinking
Dalit empowerment in the face of ongoing social and political challenges.
Keywords: Kanshi Ram, Dalit politics, Bahujan Samaj Party, social justice, marginalized
communities, Ambedkarite thought, political mobilization, caste and democracy.

INDIA’S MULTILATERAL DIPLOMACY AND THE PURSUIT OF UN SECURITY COUNCIL REFORM: FROM IDEALISM TO STRATEGIC PRAGMATISM
Author: Pushpa Rani

ABSTRACT
India‟s pursuit of a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) reflects
its evolving foreign policy and broader ambition to reshape global governance. Since
independence, India‟s external engagement has shifted from Nehruvian non-alignment to a
pragmatic and assertive diplomacy that blends principled multilateralism with strategic
realpolitik. This transformation is most evident in its sustained campaign for UNSC reform,
driven by its growing economic and geopolitical stature, democratic credentials, and active
contributions to UN peacekeeping. India has leveraged multilateral forums such as the G4,
BRICS, and G20, while maintaining solidarity with the Global South, to advocate for a more
inclusive and representative international order. Despite these efforts, India's bid continues to
face significant challenges, including opposition from entrenched powers, institutional
inertia, and regional instability. This paper examines how India‟s evolving foreign policy
characterized by a shift from idealism to issue-based pragmatism aligns with its strategic
aspiration for UNSC reform. It also explores the tensions between India‟s post-colonial
identity, domestic constraints, and global leadership ambitions. Ultimately, India's approach
reveals the complexities faced by emerging powers in navigating traditional power structures
and contributing to the democratization of global institutions.
Keywords: Strategic autonomy, Multilateralism, UNSC permanent membership.

ACTING EAST AND LOOKING WEST: INDIA’S BALANCING ACT IN A MULTIPOLAR WORLD (2014–2024)
Author: Bulbul

ABSTRACT
In light of the shifting multipolar global order between 2014 and 2024, this paper examines
India's two foreign policy philosophies, Act East and Look West. Under Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, India shifted from a non-aligned to a strategically multi-aligned stance with
the aim of simultaneously strengthening its connections with West Asia and the Indo-Pacific.
The Look West Policy sought to balance rivalries in West Asia, diversify energy sources, and
strengthen ties with the Gulf, whilst the Act East Policy focused on defence cooperation,
trade, and connectivity with Southeast and East Asia. India's efforts to manage complex and
sometimes difficult partnerships with the US, China, Russia, ASEAN, Israel, and the Arab
world are examined in this paper. While staying out of exclusive security blocs, India has
shown its strategic independence by formally participating in groups like the BRICS, SCO,
Quad, and G20. The study's conclusions indicate that India's foreign policy over the last ten
years has been a deliberate and evolving attempt to optimize geopolitical flexibility,
reinterpret great power participation, and increase its position internationally without
compromising its core objectives. This research paper focuses on the dual orientations of
Acting East and Looking West and looks at India's foreign policy strategy from 2014 to 2024
in the context of the world's increasing multipolarity. The paper examines how India has
attempted to carefully balance maintaining its strategic autonomy with expanding its global
influence. The Act East policy is evaluated in light of India's growing engagement in
Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific, with an emphasis on maritime security, economic
integration, and regional connectivity, particularly through ASEAN and the Quad. At the
same time, the Look West policy highlights India's growing ties to West Asia, which are
fuelled by the nation's energy needs, interaction with its diaspora, and formation of security
partnerships with countries like as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates.

SOLAR POWER: A LADDER TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN INDIA
Author: Vaishali Verma & Harshita Thakur Lodhi

ABSTRACT:
Shifting of power generation methods is primary need for sustainable development and
therefore the energy sector faces significant pressure to shift towards a low carbon mix. Solar
power is solution as it address dual challenges of energy security and environment
sustainability. This study investigates how solar power should be given preference over the
power generation by Coal and its role as a transformative driver in meeting India’s growing
energy demand while aligning with national commitments to the Sustainable Development
Goals. Government is taking great initiatives for production of solar power and in this study
the positive results have been found. We used Excel tools to examine growth rate of Solar
Power in country over years. We concluded that solar power growth rate is comparatively
higher than coal power which ultimately proves this study.

PLANT-BASED POWER: EXPLORING THE THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF HOME REMEDIES
Author: Tajinder Kaur

ABSTRACT
Nature has provided humanity with several boons, such as food, water, and shelter, among
which medicinal plants stand as an extra advantage. Numerous narratives exist that delineate
the therapeutic properties of certain plant species. An attempt has been made to document
home remedies used by rural residents in the Amritsar district. The study included 120
respondents, and the Simple Random Sampling technique was used for the purpose of data
collection. A semi-structured interview schedule was prepared, and for the analysis of the
data, only the statistical technique of percentage was used. The current analysis highlights the
faith of respondents in the curative powers of home remedies, underscoring the need to
preserve them for future generations.

A HISTORICAL REVIEW OF DIGITALIZATION: TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS AND SOCIETAL CHANGE
Author: Deepa S V

ABSTRACT
This review traces the historical trajectory of digitalization, analysing its symbiotic
relationship with technological progress and profound societal transformation. Beginning
with the advent of solid-state electronics and computing in the mid-20th century,
digitalization represents a fundamental shift from analog to digital data representation and
processing. The paper first establishes a conceptual framework, differentiating between
digitization (the conversion of information) and digitalization (the use of digital technology to
transform business models and interactions), leading to digital transformation (the societal
and organizational effects). A review of the extant literature reveals a recurring theme:
digitalization serves as both an accelerator of innovation, exemplified by the rise of the
internet and AI, and a powerful disruptive force impacting labour markets, social institutions,
and individual identity. Sociological perspectives highlight the dual nature of this change,
creating opportunities like global connectivity and economic growth, while simultaneously
posing challenges related to the digital divide, data privacy, and algorithmic bias. The study
identifies research gaps in the long-term ethical governance of generative AI and the
disproportionate impact on marginalized communities. Ultimately, this review underscores
that digitalization is not merely a technological upgrade but a continuous, complex process of
social metamorphosis, demanding proactive policy interventions and interdisciplinary study
to maximize benefits and mitigate threats for a globally connected future.
Key Words: Digitalization, Societal Transformation, Technological Progress, Digital
Transformation, Algorithmic Bias, Digital Divide, Generative AI, Network Society.

INTEGRATING GURUKUL WISDOM WITH GOLEMAN’S EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: INSIGHTS FROM THE HANUMAN CHALISA
Author: Khushboo Singh

ABSTRACT
This paper explores the integration of values from the Gurukul system in Ancient India with the concept of Modern Emotional Intelligence (EI), juxtaposing Devdutt Pattanaik‟s "My Hanuman Chalisa" and Daniel Goleman's "Emotional Intelligence." Gurukul represents a system of education that aimed at the holistic development of an individual‟s intellect, morality, and emotions through guidance, social living, and disciplined action. Through the correlation of the chaupais of the Hanuman Chalisa with Goleman‟s classification of EI into self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management, Hanuman Chalisa has been shown to be the “Psychological Knot” where Hanuman symbolically represents the Psychological Archetype of “Emotional Control,” “Moral Upliftment,” and “Bhavdhara,” or selfless service. With such understandings, it is proposed here that the
“Gurukul 2.0” framework be applied to modern education and leadership. Some key aspects include transformation from personal success to collective service, cultivating contextual empathies among organizational leaders, identifying and cultivating “obstacle-removers” in their organizational workforce, rooting all work efforts in the pursuit of organizational ethics, and creating organizational culture strategies that harmonize thought, action, and speech.
