ENVIRONMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: SOME ISSUES
Author: R. K. Mittal, Jaya Bhardwaj

The economy and the environment are intertwined in numerous ways. The environment supplies resources to the economy and serves as a sink for emissions and trash. The natural resources are necessary inputs for many of the industries, but their production and consumption causes pollution and other environmental problems. Poor environmental quality has a negative influence on economic growth and well-being. This is because it reduces the quantity and quality of resources available and also causes health concerns. Environmental policy can help to mitigate the detrimental effects of the economy on the environment and vice-versa.

DETERMINANTS OF PURCHASE INTENTION IN CONTEXT OF ENERGY EFFICIENT PRODUCTS
Author: Rashmi Chaudhary, Afsa Parveen

To acquire a less carbon intensive and cleaner environment, we can’t ignore household consumption due to their indispensible role in environmental sustainability. Objective:-To check the influence of Knowledge, attitude towards environment, perceived price and attitude towards products on the purchase intention of consumers in context of energy efficient products. Method: - Data of one hundred and eight respondents was analysed through structural equation modelling in Smart PLS-3. Results:-Knowledge has significant positive influence on attitude towards environment, attitude towards products and purchase intention whereas attitude towards environment has non-significant influence on purchase intention but have significantly positive influence on attitude towards products. Perceived price does not have significant influence on attitude towards products but attitude towards product has significant positive influence on purchase intention. Conclusion:-Government and marketers should focus their policies and strategies towards increasing the knowledge level of people regarding benefits (Environmental Benefits and personal benefits) by using these products as well as should provide the fruitful reason for using these products while comparing with their perceived prices.

DEBATING GANDHI
Author: Anil Dutta Mishra

Step by step, Gandhi reached at the pinnacle of existence, where no one has reached before. Gandhi motivated millions of people during his life time, continues to inspiring people around the globe. Gandhi changed the course of history and created history. He was a man of principles, great convictions and always practiced what he preached. There was no dichotomy between theory and practice and between public and private life. He left an everlasting impact on the world at large because he always spoke and understood the language of the masses, socially deprived and downtrodden. Present world is passing through a critical phase of human history and is in search of an alternative.
He was at once saint and revolutionary, politicians and social reformer, economist and man of religion, educationist and satygrahi; devotee alike of faith and reason, Hindu and inter-religious, nationalist and internationalist, man of action and dreamer of dreams. He was a great reconciler of opposites and he was that without strain or artificiality. His usefulness will not end unless conflict ceases, radical discrimination ends, women are empowered and poor live with dignity.

EXPERIMENTAL ECONOMICS: DESIRABLE AGENDA
Author: Rakesh Kumar Sudan

The experimental science community of social sciences finds itself at cross roads of 'credibility inflexion point' in matter of experimental research. Growning concerns over the replicability of published results in fields, including psychology (Nelson 2018) and economics (Camerer 2016), have inspired researchers to reconsider the way they formulate hypotheses, collect and analyse data, and interpret their findings (see, for example, Ioannidis 2005, Simmons 2011, Maniadis 2014, Brodeur 2016, and Munafó 2017). Experiments in constrained settings take away more or less the realism of the observations. Quality of existing data, data gaps is also an issue. Thus experimental necessity of social sciences becomes a buzzword in the present advanced technology of data analysis. However certain issues like replicability of the experiments hang around in the experimental domain related to economics.
However, it's not just replicability issue that lies at the core. While it is of first-order importance to embrace research practices that increase reproducibility, experimental economists also must tackle the generalizability and applicability of the evidence they produce (Banerjee 2017). For example, permanent in come is an important explanatory variable in Friedman's consumption-income relationship. Many ways can guide us to an estimate of this entity. However, one which gives the best approximation needs to be explored. Same can be said about the factors determining the shape of Phillips curve After all, we are not only interested in ensuring that the same experiment yields the same outcome when it is repeated. Ideally, we would like to be able to generalise our findings to different contexts, and produce insights that contribute to economic the oryand policy discussions.

IMPACT OF NUTRITION EDUCATION ON THE HEALTH AND LIPID PROFILE OF WOMEN
Author: Abha Khetarpal

Women's health is of utmost importance as it reflects the health of the family but in some cases, conflicting demands of work in the home have been shown to have adverse effects on her nutritional status . However, if they want to be accepted as efficient homemakers, they have to consume a nutritionally balanced diet. This will not only improve their health and nutritional status but will also reduce their weight. Since health and nutritional status of an individual depends on the food she eats, the components of the diet must be chosen judiciously, to provide all the nutrients needed in adequate amounts and proportions. The present study “The Impact Of Nutrition Education On The Health And Lipid Profile Of Women” deals with the improvement in the blood and lipid profile of Women after counseling for six months. 75 women from different age groups, economic and marital status and hailing from various districts of Haryana were enrolled for the study. Nutrition education was imparted individually followed by group contacts for a period of six months through modules, lectures, demonstrations, leaflets and visual aids. The subjects showed the positive impact of counseling as a reduction in the clinical signs of malnutrition especially of vitamin B-complex and vitamin C were observed. Following counseling for six months, an increase in the Hb level of women was observed. In the corresponding groups, the haemoglobin level increased to-12.4 to 12.9 g\dl and all the subjects were in the category of non-anaemic subjects. It was deduced that the nearly normal lipid profile of housewives improved non-significantly after counseling for six months It was observed that increase in physical activity levels, improved dietary intake along with positive life style changes resulted in bringing about the desirable changes in the lipid parameters of women.

ENABLING FARMER PRODUCER ORGANISATIONS TO PROMOTE CLIMATE RESILIENT BUSINESS MODEL: CASE STUDY FROM SIRMOUR DISTRICT OF HIMACHAL PRADESH
Author: Shailendra Dwivedi, Anindya Das

Small and marginal farmers have been experiencing changes in temperature, precipitation both in terms of magnitude and frequency, and the consequences that these extreme weather conditions inflict on the crops they produce. Collectives and cooperatives of farmers such as FPOs, have potential to adapt to climate change and strengthen their resilience against its impact. The sense of urgency being perceived by FPOs often reflected in impromptu measures need to be triangulated with climate data and modelling analysis. This case study provides insight regarding level of awareness among FPOs about climate change, and degree of willingness to take ‘additional’ measures to safeguard their business from climate risk. It may be noted that while most of the FPOs are still in the early phase of building their business, they are well aware of the risks that climate uncertainties can potentially bring to their business.

GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS IN INDIA
Author: Anita Moudgil

The spread of pandemic Covid-2019 has sensitized all to connect to the roots of traditional knowledge especially in health sector and to preserve and protect all types of intellectual property in this digital era. The protection of intellectual property through laws will help to reap benefits in terms of economic growth, employment and income generation. Geographical Indication (GI) protection is granted to a group of manufacturers, who belong to a particular location, where the good was first originated. GIs identify the goods based on their place of origin and many factors like climate, topography, human work help to determine the nature of the GIs. The study aims to understand and analyze the role of geographical indications and its awareness among the people for achievement of social upliftment for rural development in India. GI preserves the traditional skills and knowledge and helps the next generations to learn and protect it. It leads to human development. GI is an effective tool for generation of rural employment and export incomes. The legal frame work needs to focus more on quality control standards for brand building in the international markets.

INDIAN HEMP CHALLENGES AND FUTURE OUTLOOK
Author: Parul Singh, Vibhuti

India being one of the oldest civilizations in the world and Hemp which is the Earth’s most sustainable natural resource is a great combination. Hemp is a miracle crop due to which many countries are taking advantage of this crop. India is a country that still thrives on farming. Not just India’s economy but even its environment will benefit from hemp. And yet India is lagging behind in utilizing this wonder plant. Hemp clothes are not just easy on the skin but also a comfortable wear. They possess a longer duration also. All over the world, cotton is the preferred natural fiber and India is no exception. While cotton takes about ninemonths to grow, hemp grows to twelve feet in three to four months. Hemp consumes less water and could be a boon to water-starved India. Besides, it is good at suppressing weeds and also can be grown for multiple cycles in a land. Keeping in mind the advantages of hemp over cotton, the young entrepreneurs are nowadays deciding to source hemp from the farmers in Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. Hemp clothing has given men and women an opportunity to contribute with their handlooms and earn handsomely. The challenge has been that people are under the wrong impression that hemp could harm mental balance. Even though there are only a few states that have legalized hemp cultivation, a good beginning has been made. Other state governments would do well to consider the following suit. Entrepreneurs must also explore new ways of using this miracle crop.

CHANGING DYNAMICS OF INTERNET AS AN INTERMEDIARY
Author: Harinder Narvan, Aparna Jain, Aashrika Ahuja, Karanveer Singh

Digital Revolution demands that the laws governing the vast unchartered territory of internet undergo a significant shift and India has already taken a giant leap by introducing changes in its prevailing laws.
The Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules of 2021 have replaced the earlier Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules of 2011. The new rules of 2021 have prescribed a change in how the internet-based businesses which include social media platforms, OTT (over-the-top) streaming services, digital news outlets will be regulated by the government. These new rules of 2021 have been framed in exercise of powers under Section 87 of The Information Technology Act, 2000.
According to the new rules of 2021, government welcomes the social media companies to operate in India, to do business in India and also to earn profits in India. However, they will have to be accountable to the Constitution of India and laws applicable in India against its misuse and abuse over the internet, embodying a mechanism for redressal and timely resolution of the grievances.

प्राकृतिक चिकित्सा द्वारा त्वचा संबंधी रोगों का निवारण
Author:
