ABSTRACT
One of the most important nationalist leaders of colonial India was Lala Lajpat Rai, also referred to as the "Punjab Kesari" (Lion of Punjab). He made contributions to social change, education, economic independence, and cultural revitalization in addition to political activism. In addition to encouraging socioeconomic advancement and modernity, He envisioned a kind of cultural nationalism that was firmly anchored in India's cultural legacy. He thought that social reform, economic empowerment, education, and the preservation of indigenous culture were the only ways to bring about a national awakening. This paper explores Lala Lajpat Rai's notion of cultural nationalism and considers how it influenced colonial-era societal development. It examines his contributions to nation-building, educational programs, social reform movements, economic theory, and ideological underpinnings. According to the study, Lajpat Rai was a key figure in the development of contemporary Indian nationalism since his vision combined social advancement with cultural pride.
