Abstract
ABSTRACT:
The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between the lunch schedule and the body mass index of elementary school students. In order to enhance enrollment, attendance, retention, and academic performance, India implemented a nationwide program to provide midday meals to schoolaged children. Lunches that have previously been prepared are eaten by the majority of students from low-income homes. Women are more prone to have skipped meals or eaten nothing at all around midday, whereas
men are more likely to have continued eating. Less and fewer children eat lunch at noon as they get older. Boys are more prone than females to be underweight, which affects the majority of children. This study investigates the correlation between lunchtime and the body mass index of elementary school students. Following the implementation of a government initiative to provide free lunch to school-aged children during the school day, a greater number of children in India enrolled in school, attended regularly, and performed well academically. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the health effects of the lunchtime feeding program on pupils. For this purpose, both primary and secondary data are used using fundamental statistical techniques.
